The Project


Southern Program Alliance based on the Frankston line is one of five alliances responsible for removing 110 of Melbourne's most dangerous and congested level crossings by 2025 as part of Victoria's Big Build transport infrastructure program.

The Opportunity


The Surveillance Coordinator will be primarily responsible for supporting the construction team with managing the quality of the work from planning through to construction.

This involves carrying out daily quality surveillance of the Alliance Works and fulfilling the role of the Nominated Representative for the release of Hold Points and Witness Points as nominated in Inspection and Test Plans.


Key Accountabilities for the position will be:

  • Supporting the construction team in to ensure compliance with Quality Systems for the project in regard to quality through involvement during work planning.
  • Fulfil the role of the Nominated Representative on the Project for the release of Hold Points and Witness Points as nominated in the Alliance's Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspection on subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Defects and incident investigation.
  • Check all new projects start up documents for accuracy, reviewing design drawings, reports and specification against the construction plans and ITP.
Required Skills and Competencies

  • Tertiary Qualified in Engineering, relevant discipline or demonstrated specific experience in aligned or similar role
  • 4+ years' experience in the civil construction or rail industry including major infrastructure projects
  • Highly developed planning and negotiation skills
  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills.
