  • Planning, coordinating, monitoring and reviewing surveillance resources to a range of risk-based surveillance activities for asset maintenance including, managed motorways infrastructure, street lighting, traffic signals, ITS and other electrical devices and assets.
  • Providing expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders relating to surveillance issues and develop and maintain strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders and take a lead role in negotiations and resolving issues as required.
  • Exercising professional judgement in the delivery of construction activities including traffic management, ITS infrastructure, traffic signals and street lighting according to project scope, in accordance with MRPV and VicRoads policies, standards, specifications and guidelines.
  • Undertaking field surveillance activities and ensure activities undertaken are well documented through DTP corporate systems. Authorise the release of contract hold points, issues, non-compliances wherever deemed necessary, approve dayworks and provisional works as required under contract.
  • Identifications of maintenance trends and issues through analysis of surveillance records. Assist in reviewing asset based targeted maintenance scope and requirements, specifications, costing, etc.

Reporting to the Intelligent Transport System Specialist, the Surveillance Manager (ITS) will work across the Freeway packages within MRPV's North East Link Program (NELP), managing the surveillance of all Intelligent Transport System (ITS) infrastructure, including electrical work delivery. The role is responsible to undertake field surveillance activities, including coordinate, monitor and review surveillance resources on a range of risk-based surveillance activities for asset maintenance and projects including, Managed Motorways Intelligent Transport Infrastructure, Street Lighting, Traffic Signals, and other electrical devices and assets.

In consultation with Delivery Freeway Alliances, the Surveillance Manager (ITS) will coordinate and monitor the delivery of ITS and electrical infrastructure requirements, ensuring compliance with project scope and Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) specifications and standards. This position will ensure ITS and electrical infrastructure compliance across the North East Link Program are implemented to meet community expectations, relevant legislation, and project specifications. This position will allow the successful incumbent to provide leadership and solutions that will benefit the constructability and usability of Victoria's largest road transport project to date.

About You

  • You will be required to have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of surveillance activities, hazard identification, worksite traffic management and OH&S requirements preferably on a major project.
  • Experienced in managing the surveillance of ITS infrastructure, including electrical work delivery and asset maintenance including, managed motorways infrastructure, street lighting, traffic signals and other electrical assets.
  • High level of knowledge in the use of relevant computer systems including MS-Excel, MS-Word, ITS software packages and a well-developed understanding of the working of databases such as DTP Road Asset Inventory and SCADA systems.

This opportunity is a 3 year fixed-term.

It will be a requirement to travel and spend time at one or all our site offices..
