About this opportunity
We are looking for a passionate finance professional in the role of Finance Business Partner for Operations and Corporate.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance this role involves:

  • Providing support and analysis, to add value that will assist functional Directors and Managers in the decision-making process in providing timely and accurate financial information.
  • Establishing and maintaining a business partner model and work closely with functional Directors and Managers, creating a strong and active partnership.
  • Developing and monitoring detailed financial plans and forecasts with contribution from functional Directors and Managers.
  • Month end tasks to ensure the integrity and accuracy of numbers for month end reports. Prepare, populate, and present monthly financial reports.
  • Developing visualisations and management reports using BI tool to improve understanding of and provide insights to stakeholders on business drivers and performance.
  • Performing analysis duties for the annual budget and periodical forecasting, using and Adaptive Insights.
  • Successfully communicating financial outcomes and guidance to the functional Directors and Managers in a clear, concise and understandable manner.
About you

Ideally you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce or accounting
  • Membership to CPA Australia, Institute of Charter Accountants or equivalent international body
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • A strong knowledge of financial and management accounting activities, budgeting, accounting policies and performance monitoring.
  • Advanced computer skills particularly with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships at all levels of the business.
  • Experience with GP and Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure including the ability to achieve outcomes, prioritise work, meet deadlines, and retain personal motivation and tolerance.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Having responsibility and oversight of the financial management and performance across Planning & Performance and Passenger Network Innovation, ensuring this is managed effectively and that the company delivers on its financial obligations.
  • Working as a Business Partner to the Manager's and acting as the primary contact person for financial advice and analysis.
  • Establishing and maintaining a performance dialogue and assisting Manager's in identifying and implementing performance plans that ensure financial performance is aligned with annual targets.
  • Effective delivery of month end and payroll deliverables.
