In this role you will:
- attend your appointed correctional centre(s) approximately once per month
- speak with prisoners to discuss their issues and concerns
- investigate and resolve prisoner complaints by interacting with correctional centre staff and management
- review prisoner safety orders
- prepare brief reports on your reviews of complaints
The skills required for this role are:
- ability to relate well to a variety of people, including prisoners, correctional centre staff and management
- desire to serve the community, empathy and impartiality
- ability to read and understand correctional centre procedures
- ability to travel to your appointed correctional centre(s)
There are no mandatory qualifications for this role, although relevant employment experience or other service will be highly regarded. Current employees of the Queensland public service (including Queensland Corrective Services) are noteligible to apply.
