We currently have an exciting as a Procurement Manager, working on the Hunter Class Frigate Program, within our Maritime Australia business unit, based at Osborne, South Australia.

This role provides the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement and a 9 day fortnight full-time working option.

Your new role:


Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will lead development and execution of procurement strategies, sourcing events, contract negotiations and establishment of supplier relationships, which ensure delivery of raw materials to cost, schedule and quality requirements.

More specifically, you will

  • Lead procurement approaches which arrogate spend and deliver value for money;
  • Lead negotiation strategies for key raw material agreements;
  • Work collaboratively across production and supply planning to ensure supply solutions which meet material availability requirements;
  • Collaborate with engineering and other stakeholders to ensure timely provision of technical requirements and forecasted quantities;
  • Place Orders and expedite materials in accordance with supply plans / production demand;
  • Collaborate with suppliers to rectify any material nonconformances;
  • Catalogue agreed products and prices, within the procurement system, for efficient ongoing ordering;
  • Establish regular supplier communication and performance monitoring to drive ongoing continuous improvement;
About you

As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

  • Demonstrated procurement experience and within a large project context (i.e defence or major infrastructure projects).
  • Working knowledge of various raw materials, grades and processes (in particular Steel);

Whilst not essential, degree qualification in procurement/supply chain or commercial discipline, with professional procurement qualification or a membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) is desirable.
