We currently have an exciting as a Procurement Manager, working on the Hunter Class Frigate Program, within our Maritime Australia business unit, based at Osborne, South Australia.

Your new role:
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you will lead development and execution of procurement strategies, sourcing, contract negotiations and establishment of supplier relationships, which ensure delivery of materials to cost, schedule and quality requirements, for complex and modified off-the-shelf systems and products.
More specifically, you will:
- Lead a small team of procurement professionals to undertake procurement of assigned scope packages;
- Lead procurement approaches which arrogate spend and deliver value for money;
- Lead negotiation strategies for key strategic agreements;
- Work collaboratively across production and supply planning to supply solutions which meet material availability requirements;
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure timely provision of technical requirements;
- Establish long term supplier relationships and drumbeat of regular supplier communication and performance monitoring to drive ongoing continuous improvement;
- Identify and manage supply risk;
- Report on procurement performance against project requirements;
- Identify opportunities for Australian Industry and diverse supplier procurement;
- Collaborate with suppliers to reduce value chain greenhouse gas emissions;
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:
- Demonstrated procurement experience and within a large project context (i.e defence or major infrastructure projects).
- Demonstrated commercial acumen;
- Demonstrated experience using various cost & price analysis techniques;
- Demonstrated experience participating in project schedule and cost reviews;
- Working experience leading procurement professionals;
Whilst not essential, degree qualification in procurement/supply chain or commercial discipline, with professional procurement qualification or a membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) is desirable.
