Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Aspect Personnel Full time

Aspect Personnel are currently working with council in Melbourne's South East to recruit a Coordinator of Building Risk & Compliance for an initial 3 month contract.

You will be responsible for the management of councils ESM program across a portfolio of council community buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate inspections and audits of building essential safety measures (ESM) systems, including fire detection and alarm systems, emergency lighting, and fire hydrants
  • Provide recommendations and advice on ESM compliance and maintenance
  • Prepare reports and documentation on ESM inspections and audits
  • Maintain accurate records of ESM systems and conduct regular checks to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Coordinate ESM upgrades and maintenance

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations, including the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and the National Construction Code (NCC)
  • Proven experience as an Essential Safety Measures Advisor/Coordinator or similar role
  • Ability to conduct thorough inspections and audits of ESM systems
  • Experience working within or for local government desirable
  • Excellent report writing and documentation skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
