About the North Eastern Public Health Unit (NEPHU)
NEPHU is one of nine public health units in Victoria: three in metropolitan Melbourne and six covering regional Victoria.

Together these units form a coordinated network, working in partnership with the Department of Health to deliver a comprehensive public health program for Victoria.

The NEPHU is led and coordinated by Austin Health with responsibility spanning approximately 1.81m people living in the northeast of metropolitan Melbourne.

We work collaboratively to improve the health and wellbeing of the NEPHU population through health promotion, prevention and protection activity.

We do this through evidence informed population and place-based responses to current and emerging health needs and emergencies.

In this way we contribute to a vision of active connected and safe communities for all - with healthy places, healthy people and a healthier tomorrow.

The NEPHU is proud of its diverse multidisciplinary team who provide a service across extended hours seven days per week.


About the role


The NEPHU Quality and Risk Coordinator works in collaboration with the NEPHU leaders and team to coordinate quality and risk initiatives at NEPHU.

The key functions of this position are to coordinate the unit's quality framework implementation and ongoing reviews, monitor and report on the quality and risk management plans and activities, to oversee the risk management reporting process, and to support the unit in embedding continuous improvement strategies through the development and implementation of a project management framework.


About you
To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

  • Qualifications in health, quality/risk management, or business or equivalent work-related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating the quality and risk function within a health setting
  • Broad knowledge of contemporary Quality and Risk principles, best practice, and the statutory and regulatory framework in which they operate
  • Highly developed communication skills with experience in report writing and presentations
  • An ability to engage employees at all levels to encourage an active involvement in continuous improvement, project and risk management activities
