**The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented
Safety Management System - Documents & Plans Specialistto develop, maintain and execute the SMS Future Process Writing Plan in collaboration with Risk & Assurance and Policy & Promotion Leads, working collaboratively across BDA functions to integrate SMS requirements and outcomes across all BDA SMS process writings, manuals and plans.

The role may be based in
Brisbane or Newcastle (RAAF Base Williamtown).

Responsibilities

  • Develop new and review existing project planning and execution artefacts (SMS Manual, Implementation Plan, etc.), processes documents (PROs, BPIs etc.), coordinate BDAwide stakeholder engagement for draft document review;
  • Support SMS Policy & Promotions Lead with SMS Change Management activities for SMS process writings;
  • Coordinate processing documents through the Engineering Change Control Board and the Enterprise Change Board as appropriate;
  • Manage SMS Manual Disposition Register;
  • Support SMS Policy & Promotions Lead in Annual Review of Safety Policy to ensure Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) compliance and broader Enterprise alignment. Coordinate physical staffing of policy updates through BDA LT and Board levels and coordination/alignment with Functions;
  • Support SMS Training Specialist and Comms Specialist contributing to the planning, coordination and administration of BDA SMS Project formal training courses and materials.
  • Support SMS Implementation planning and resources assessment based on updated SMS Gap Analysis (Maturity Evaluation) and SMS Implementation Plan Review.
  • Manage Products & Services Safety Document records as the BDA Products & Services Safety Information Management Focal.

Experience/Qualifications
Essential

  • Demonstrated experience writing technical and process documentation and command media;
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills;
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
Desirable

  • Knowledge of Safety Management System, ICAO Annex 19 and Defence Aviation Safety Regulations;
  • Understanding of the role of Human Factors in safety management;
