About the Role


Due to internal growth, we are looking to expand our team and hire a Functional Analyst on a 12-month permanent basis in Melbourne or Adelaide.


This role will see the Functional Analyst support the delivery of positive debt performance and drive initiatives to positively impact the debt book and ultimately supports the Large Collections team.


Credit Collections aims to minimise overdue accounts, prevent bad debts, whilst consuming the least amount of resources and upholding optimal customer experience.

The Large Collections team is responsible for managing & optimising cash collections across AGL's C&I customers.

The team ultimately aims to identify opportunities to resolve customer indebtedness upstream and improve customer engagement in the collections lifecycle.


What you'll be doing:

Delivering Value:

  • Proactive monitoring, investigation and analysis of debt performance reports, metrics, forecasts and trends, on a daily and weekly basis
  • Monitor and drive performance of overall Credit & Affordability targets
  • Recommend collection strategies (based on analytical insights, research and thought leadership) and once approved, execute through to completion.
  • Implementation of debt performance initiatives that impact positively on debt book and customer experience
  • Monitoring 'end to end' collections framework to ensure process integrity, working with key internal and external stakeholders for issue resolution.2.

Creating Efficiencies:

  • Identify and implement process improvements that have a positive cost/benefit return and reduction in Opex
  • Make it easier for customers and stakeholders to interact with Credit processes
  • Ensure all Credit processes are executed and/or actioned in a timely manner
  • Resolve process issues to deliver efficient debt recovery
  • Simplify Credit processes (where appropriate)

Quality, Compliance & Governance:

  • Gather analytical insights from stakeholders (monthly basis at a minimum) and recommend actions to improve upstream and downstream debt recovery
  • Monitor and review system process performance and integrity, implementing corrective actions where required
  • Ensure all Credit processes are compliant from a financial, regulatory and legal perspective
  • Anticipate any risks and issues, and address appropriately during planning
  • Minimise impacts to BAU by providing quality change readiness support such as work instructions and training, and following up with post implementation support

Qualifications, key skills and experience required:

  • Process knowledge in credit management and collections, ideally within the energy industry
  • Prior experience in an Analyst function or equivalent utilising SAP HANA or Power BI
  • Able to analyse processes, recommend a solution & drive the solution to completion
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills with focus on detail
  • High quality written and verbal communication
  • Proven experience as a business/operational analyst in similar or related businesses
  • Experience with debt performance management and understanding of business drivers preferably in utilities
