We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Advisor to come and join our Asia Pacific & South Africa team Reporting to the Organisational Development Director, Asia Pacific & South Africa, the DEI Advisor will provide strategic direction and advisory on topics related to diversity, equity, and inclusion and will have the natural ability to engage, empower and work with all levels in the organization from all backgrounds to establish a truly diverse, equitable and inclusive team.

This is an 18 month fixed term contract role.

About the role

  • Design and develop sustainable DEI strategies
  • Act as an internal expert on DEI including external trends, market dynamics and best practices
  • Understand and promote the latest research, thinking and practice on key diversity areas and recommend solutions
  • Implement plans, programs and initiatives to drive DEI within McCain
  • Support the development and maturity of Employee Resource Groups
  • Monitor and assess our organizational systems for barriers that do not support our DEI vision
  • Promote tools and resources to enhance employee understanding on DEI issues
  • Work with the leadership team and other leaders to ensure that supporting inclusion is a key part of their people practices
  • Generate ideas for communication content through research, collaboration with team members, and discussions with subject matter experts

About you

  • Demonstrated significant experience in developing, implementing and evaluating innovative strategies and programs
  • Preferred global experience, leading within multiple cultures
  • Change management skills to embed sustainable practices and capability
  • Leadership and influence skills including the ability to engage others from all parts of the organisation
  • Strong communication skills and an engaging presence
  • Proven track record in delivering a program of works in a timely and effective manner
  • Demonstrated knowledge in DEI principles and up-to-date knowledge in this area
  • Proven ability to assess and understand business needs, synthesize findings and deliver content to support strategic initiatives
  • Post secondary education in Communications or Human Resources, or equivalent, coupled with 5+ years of DEI experience preferably within a global organization
