About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diversity and Inclusion Project Officer to join our team at the City of Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the City of Melbourne's workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion projects.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to promote positive change and implement evidence-based activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community groups, government agencies, and other organizations.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Provide training and support to employees on diversity, equity, and inclusion issues.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications or significant workplace experience in social planning, gender studies, community development, social science, human resources, or a related field.
  • Experience in workplace diversity, equality, and inclusion, with a strong understanding of gender impact assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience in thinking strategically and conceptually in complex cultural, policy, and legislative environments.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and engagement skills to a variety of audiences.
