About the role:


The Safety Quality & Compliance Manager will lead, resource, and drive a strategic focus on positive client outcomes, compliance, and risk management.

The role will lead the organisation through service audit, monitoring, and accreditation processes.


The Safety Quality & Compliance Manager is responsible to oversee the Quality Framework, incorporating organisational quality, clinical quality, and policy.

The Manager is also responsible day-to-day delivery of innovative, high-quality aged care services to residents in accordance with the Vision, Mission, policies, and procedures of our client.


The Safety Quality & Compliance Manager provides leadership and is a role model to the staff including their professional development.

The Safety Quality & Compliance is responsible for ensuring timely compliance with care standards and regulatory obligations, accreditation expected outcomes, the satisfaction of residents and their families, and for ensuring they are appropriately remunerated for the care it provides to residents.

Critical to this position is the ability to create a positive work environment, combined with sound industry knowledge and awareness of expectations in the aged care environment.


Resident Clinical Care & Wellbeing

  • Develop appropriate action plans to ensure compliance is maintained with the latest Quality & Safety Commission Standards
  • Provide leadership and direction to the clinical team ensuring that they understand their role and meet legislative accreditation to meet age care quality agency auditing requirements.
  • Focal point of contact on quality matters and coordinating nonconformity and corrective action plans.
  • Monitoring, analysing, and providing advice on the performance of quality systems, analysing data, and reporting on performance against KPIs and standards.
  • Work closely with Managers across the organisation in achieving their Quality KPIs
  • Develop and maintain Quality Management Frameworks and systems for better reporting and analysis against standards and KPIs.
  • Manage and guide and improve organisational quality and clinical quality in line with best practices through policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Guide and lead the continuous improvement measures by identifying monitoring, and actioning activities to improve quality indicators, resident outcomes, and experience.
  • Ensure the provision of high levels of clinical care to all residents in ways that support the development & maintenance of physical, psychological, and social wellbeing & reflect evidencebased practice and standards.
  • Oversee infection prevention and control program ensuring best practice standards are achieved.
  • Ensure all care and clinical policies, procedures, and documents are current, developed, reviewed, and managed to ensure personcentered best practices and to meet the objectives of good clinical care, accreditation, and funding requirements.
  • Ensure all assessments, documentation, care plans, and reviews are carried out in a professional, efficient, and timely manner to meet the objectives of good clinical care, accreditation, and funding requirements.
  • Ensure all residents' rights, responsibilities, confidentiality, and privacy are maintained in all matters, paying particular regard to resident choice.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the clinical & care teams to ensure high levels of service, competency and staff morale.
  • In collaboration with the members of senior management ensure that appropriate orientation, education and training is provided for staff.
  • Respond and manage all comments, feedback, issues and complaints from residents' families and carers including mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to building a culture of appreciation through emphasising and acknowledging the positive work & contribution of others.
  • Accept personal responsibility for the things within your control in advancing their aims and culture and in fulfilling positional responsibilities.
  • In conjunction with Care Manager share oncall responsibility for afterhours and weekend

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years postregistration experience including management experience.
  • Experience in organisational compliance and quality frameworks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and report writing skills
  • Working with older people in a clinical or aged care setting
