As the Compliance Advisor you work as part of the second line of defence Compliance Advisory Insurance team to support key second line oversight and monitoring activities across the Insurance function including; compliance insights and reporting, licencing, regulatory projects, and breach management.


What you'll do

  • Monitoring and oversight of licencing activities, obligation management, breach management, compliance risk control testing
  • Contribute to compliance risk data collection, analysis and assessment and reporting for compliance risk
  • Provide compliance risk related challenge and partner with 1L risk and compliance teams as a trusted advisor and advocate to improve compliance maturity
  • Complete targeted/deep dive reviews on compliance matters and make recommendations on actions required and/or opportunities to improve compliance.
  • Assist with the identification of inefficient internal processes and work with the Manager to recommend improvements.
  • Research, review and analyse compliance material and provide summary and/or recommendations as required.
  • Perform as part of a high performing and engaged team.

What you'll need to bring

  • Tertiary qualifications in legal or similar will be highly regarded.
  • 4+ years experience in risk & compliance or a related field within the financial services sector
  • Knowledge of regulatory and legislative environment applicable to Insurance
  • Knowledge of general risk and compliance practices
  • Ability to recognise, analyse and evaluate business risks and opportunities impacting across diverse but related business areas
  • Developed ability to prepare and present concise oral and written reports
  • Stakeholder management experience and ability to work effectively with staff at all levels of an organisation.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Data analytical skills desirable
