**Project Compliance Officer**

**About the role**:
The role of the Project Compliance Advisor is to support the Insurance function in understanding and managing their compliance and regulatory risks for the Digital Insurer Program, specifically:

- Perform activities as required to support the delivery of the Digital Insurer Program of work with a consistent approach for Insurance to adhere to Group Risk and Compliance Management Frameworks, Policies and Standards (e.g., ERMF, Project Risk Standard, ROCSA standard etc.)
- Work closely with the Business Risk and Business Compliance teams to ensure there is a common understanding of all portfolio Compliance Risks & Activities
- Understand portfolio Compliance Risks and Activities ensuring any learnings/insights or actions are incorporated in the delivery of risk initiatives/activities for the Digital Insurer Program
- Actively share learnings and insights broadly across the 1LOD Project Risk and Compliance team to foster a learning culture and uplift capability for the Digital Insurer Program

**More specifically, you will**:
The purpose of this role is to support the Insurance business (ICO and IPP) to strengthen their compliance to regulatory and legislative requirements for the Digital Insurer Program of work through the provision of:

- Compliance advice and insights for the Digital Insurer Program, to achieve the delivery objectives, including leading the support for the development of artefacts such as assessments and due diligence requirements for change initiatives and projects
- Identification of regulatory and legislative change that will impact insurance and provision of recommendation for change.
- Providing support and advice to ensure changes within the Digital Insurer Program of work are compliant against:

- Suncorp Policies and Procedures
- State Scheme Statutory Regulators
- APRA
- ASIC
- General Insurance Code of Practice
- Any other relevant laws and requirements (e.g. privacy, CHaaFS, Anti-Hawking etc.)
- Identify and challenge areas for improvement and work with stakeholders to identify solutions and outcomes.
- Influence and assist in providing our customers with a high quality, market leading experience
- Able to highlight issues, breaches and opportunities, working to ensure the business achieves its potential for delivery of the Digital Insurer Program of work

The scope of this role covers all products and services in the Insurance business (ICO and IPP).

**About You**:

- Relevant degree in Law, Business, Commerce, or related field - Desired
- Qualification in risk compliance management, corporate governance - Mandatory
- Minimum four (4) years of appropriate industry experience in General, Life or Personal Injury Insurance (mandatory).
- Minimum two (2) years of experience within Compliance related business area(s) (mandatory).
- Minimum two (2) years of experience providing advice to multiple Programs and Projects. (Desired)

**Key Capabilities**:

- Experience in managing stakeholder relationships at varying levels
- Knowledge and understanding of a business operational environment
- Experience in the identification of key compliance and regulatory requirements and working with key stakeholders who ensure business products and processes address these.
- Ability to develop and implement compliance risk procedures and controls
- Understanding of the Australian Financial Services Regulatory and Legislative environment including the General Insurance Code of Practice
- Working knowledge of the insurance products, industry, market environment and customer segment.
- Experience in assessing regulatory, legislative and code requirements in business initiatives (such as process changes and project delivery)
- Technical experience with Risk Systems (IRIIS)
- Communication Skills - ability to convey and explain information, coherently and confidently both verbally and in writing.
- Possess the commercial acumen to escalate matters where required.
- Customer service - committed to delivering a quality differentiated experience to all customers.
- Time management skills - able to deliver work to timeframes and multiple priorities
- Adaptable and responsive to a continuously changing environment
- Influencing and relationship management skills across internal stakeholders.
