SC1 Demonstrated experience and skills in coordinating ICT in a Primary School setting

SC4 Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management in respect to ICT

SC6 Demonstrated capacity to develop procedures and guidelines relating to ICT

Role:

Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction mínimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school.

Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.


Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.


An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.

Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.


Responsibilities:

POSITION OBJECTIVES
The objective of the ICT Technical Manager is to:

  • ensure effective and responsive service delivery for all ICT-related services provided to the school.
  • Innovate and expand The Schools ICTrelated software, hardware, device management and service solutions in the spirit of continuous improvement to ensure our ICT provision to students and staff enables the School to optimally fulfil its vision.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As the ICT Technical Manager you will steward the ICT strategy and operations of the School

This will include:

ICT strategy and leadership

  • Providing leadership, strategic and tactical direction to members of the ICT Team.
  • Liaising closely with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team, in relation to aspects of ICT and its interrelationship with the School teaching and learning needs.
  • Committing to continuous improvement by considering innovative opportunities to integrate new software, hardware, device management and service solutions in to the School ICT operations that enables the School to optimally fulfil its vision.
  • Leading efficient and reliable change processes across the School for the implementation of and transition to new software, hardware, device management and service solutions.

ICT day-to-day operations

  • Ensuring the daytoday ICT operations are efficient and effective, that faults and service interruptions are responded to with a sense of urgency and that service delivery processes are in place to prioritise and manage workloads and work flows.
  • Establishing and maintaining performance metrics to monitor and report on the performance of key ICT processes and solutions.
  • Managing the ICT infrastructure and equipment at the School in a way that develops student learning opportunities and ensures compliance with Victorian Department of Education and Training's (DET) policies and procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining ICT policies, standards, procedures or other documentation as required to support the activities of the ICT Team.
  • Ensuring the security and integrity of the School's ICT system in line with DET policies and procedures.
  • Leading the development, testing and execution of ICT disaster recovery and service continuity processes and technologies.
  • Effectively managing resources, including budgeting, ordering, contract and service agreements consistent with school priorities and policy.
