Going North Creative Project Manager

Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia Bolster Digital Full time

We are on the lookout for an outgoing and eager individual to join our Going North team as Creative Project Manager. Based full-time in Darwin, the role is responsible for managing client relationships and leading the successful execution of creative projects from launch to completion.

You will work closely with the Senior Creative & Client Lead (who happens to be a dead-set legend) and integrated agency teams across Bolster Group (the best in the biz), to oversee content production and delivery for our retained clients within the arts, education and government industries (to mention just a few). Your ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with clients, internal teams and our freelance network will be crucial to supporting the Going North agency through its next phase of growth.

As a key player in the creation of social and digital content, you will be responsible for both pre-production, on-ground production and post-production tasks. Your expertise in negotiating talent fees, monitoring budgets and coordinating with creative teams will ensure that we produce cutting-edge, social-first content that resonates with audiences.

In addition to your account management and content production duties, you will contribute to the refinement of our internal processes, assist with resource planning and provide all-round assistance to the Going North team. If you are passionate about delivering exciting projects and outstanding client experiences, and you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we would love to hear from you.

Who is Going North?

Going North is an Indigenous-owned, Northern Territory-based culture studio and consultancy with deep roots in art, music and fashion. We bring untold stories from the territory to the world.

Backed by an extensive network of collaborators, Going North works end-to-end to deliver world-class thinking grounded in the cultures and communities it began.

  • Support the development of creative documents (e.g. proposals, execution plans)
  • Negotiate talent fees and contracting, with meticulous attention to detail
  • Closely monitor project budgets, including external / material costs and team hours
  • Pre-production planning (including but not limited to) securing crew, permits and run sheets
  • On-ground production, to provide direction to talent and freelancers in attendance
  • Act as main point of contact and intermediary for revision rounds between client and creator
  • Oversee post-production and delivery of predominantly social or digital content outputs

Admin & Internal

  • Help organise the team's workload via the Group's weekly resource planning meeting
  • Stay in the loop re platform updates to ensure our content is cutting-edge and social-first
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of cultural and social trends

  • Proven history of managing and building rapport with clients and stakeholders
  • Resilience and a positive, solutions-focussed mindset – you bring clarity to chaos
  • Proactive and self-motivated nature – you don't wait to be told what to do or how to do it
  • Competence to navigate difficult conversations and get things back on course
  • Superior time management and organisational skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Confidence to interact well with people on a personal and professional level
  • Experience working with government agencies and departments is highly favourable
  • Brownie points for Adobe Creative Cloud or video editing experience (but not a requisite)
  • Permanent location in Darwin, or desire to make the move for the position

Our Culture

Best described by our values, which serve as the guiding principles in how we interact with our peers, partners and clients:

  • Eyes on culture. We connect our clients to culture and current affairs, immersing ourselves in the communities we serve. We know everything they need to know.
  • We turn up. In a presentation. At a launch. At an event. In a WIP. For our clients and teammates, every day.
  • We roll with the punches. We know the nature of this work is unpredictable. We do our best work when we're thrown a curveball, or dive into the deep end.
  • We keep it real. You can't fake what we do. We strip away the BS and build trusting relationships. Knowledge, transparency, authenticity – this is what we're about.
  • It's in our hands. We take responsibility, stay one step ahead, push outside our comfort zone and never phone it in. We'd rather fail trying something new than die wondering.

What You Can Expect From Us:

  • Interesting, exciting, and challenging work with an enviable list of clients
  • Multiple trips to remote areas of the NT
  • Support, guidance, and growth including an annual learning and development budget
  • Fortnightly 'Bolster Uni' sessions featuring both internal and external speakers
  • Class Pass credits and access to Masterclass online training
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services including counselling and wellbeing resources
  • Progression – recognition and reward for your efforts
