In this newly created role, you will report to the Executive Manager of Relationship Pricing.

The mission of the team is to design and implement a relationship pricing approach to improve customer & front-line experience, and quality of pricing decisions.

Key priorities include improving front-line tooling, shifting to a relationship-level pricing framework, and driving continuous improvement of pricing models and insights.

This crucial role utilises your strong commercial and analytical skills gained within a financial services environment to provide relationship pricing expertise and advice to continuously innovate, simplify and automate pricing solutions within a dynamic environment across the pricing teams.


Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in the design and implementation of the relationship pricing strategy for CommBank's Business Banking portfolio to achieve strategic plan objectives
  • Initiate, develop, and present analysis on key drivers of relationship value to support the optimisation of relationship returns and franchise growth, considering industry mix, product mix, volume vs margins trade offs, retention, customerlevel unit costs, capital requirements and other profit drivers;
  • Integrate data analytics capabilities with traditional pricing methods to deliver actionable recommendations to varied stakeholders across Business Bank Product and Segment teams
  • Analyse and communicate impact of "test and learn" exercises in relation to relationship pricing strategy
  • Support the identification, assessment, prioritisation, and deployment of Relationship Pricing solutions to frontline teams.
  • Assist senior pricing team members to make required pricing recommendations, implement, and monitor them accurately includes development of reporting dashboards to monitor performance against strategy
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve pricing capabilities and team productivity

We are interested to hear from people who have

  • Relevant qualifications and a background in Finance and Quantitative techniques
  • Solid experience in pricing, finance or commercial roles, preferably within the financial services industry
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills using MS Excel, Tableau/PowerBI, and SQL (required)
  • Experience in using Python, R, or SAS (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated understanding of P&L management, including capital, profit and value measures and drivers
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write and speak with clarity and impact
  • Ability to quickly build and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating exceptional customer service.
  • Advanced problem solving skills and commercial acumen
