We are seeking a passionate HSW Officer to undertake a range of HSW activities, that has the understanding of legislative responsibilities and Self-Insurance Performance Standards to support the University's HSW framework.


The HSW Officer provides practical support and coordination to a range of HSW activities across the University particularly with, but not limited to, incident investigations, providing general advice on policies, procedures and relevant legislations, and conducting of safety reviews.


The role is part of a team of safety professionals that assist with creating a work environment that is focused on minimising risk to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees.

This is an exciting opportunity to partner with our diverse research-intensive community to provide effective HSW support.

To be successful you will need:

  • Sound knowledge of relevant WHS Legislation, safety management systems and hazard management approaches.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing management to effect positive HSW outcomes across a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and prepare quality HSWrelated material and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve goals and meet deadlines.
