Job Description

Your New Role

As the Regional Financial Controller at Leidos Australia, you will lead and supervise a large, highly competent team in Australia and across Asia. This role carries significant visibility and is a cornerstone within the finance leadership team. Your success will hinge on your leadership abilities and solid technical expertise in a complex multinational setting.

Directly reporting to the Senior Vice President, Leidos Chief Accounting Officer in the US, you will be accountable for upholding financial integrity, ensuring compliance in all financial transactions, and overseeing all statutory reporting obligations for the US and APAC Regions. This position presents a wonderful opportunity for the right individual to showcase their leadership and mentorship skills, contributing to the growth of team members' careers.

Qualifications

About You and Your Contributions

You will thrive in challenging processes, mentoring others in accounting intricacies, and adding value within a multifaceted environment. An accomplished Financial Controller, you will oversee various areas, particularly including:

  • Leading a large, high-performing team specializing in accounting, tax, and shared services
  • Financial accounting, statutory accounting, auditing, and tax management

In addition to the above, you will:

  • Ensure timely completion of all statutory and parent-company reporting obligations
  • Implement accounting policies and SOX controls
  • Collaborate with the Australian business on accounting and taxation matters, providing internal and external financial and tax audit advice and coordination
  • Coordinate audits effectively
  • Focus on continuous enhancements and efficiencies

Your ability to nurture relationships will be pivotal in ensuring smooth and efficient result delivery for both your immediate team and project finance teams. Proficient in time and people management, as well as relationship building, you effortlessly transition between high-level strategies and intricate details. Driven by execution and commercial success, you excel in business partnering and delivering top-notch service to the organization.

You will also possess:

  • Appropriate qualifications along with a CA/CPA certification. An MBA would be advantageous
  • A proven track record in a similar role within a large multinational corporation, leading sizable teams
  • Over 15 years of relevant experience in the industry or a combination of experience in an accountancy firm and industry
  • Rich experience in People Management and Leadership, adept at supporting geographically dispersed stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and influencing capabilities
  • A passion for change and thriving in a dynamic setting
  • The ability to influence peers and management, fostering strong relationships with internal stakeholders in the US and APAC
  • A curious mindset that challenges existing thoughts and processes to enhance business and team performance
