We currently have an exciting opening for a Pastry Chef to join the innovative team at St Vincent's Care Services, Kew on a Casual basis.

In this role, you will utilize your strong cooking skills and love for your craft to provide our residents with a top-notch dining experience. Planning and delivering pastry menus, this is your chance to showcase your creativity while collaborating with a highly skilled team in an environment that is reshaping the norms of aged care.

What we're looking for:

  • Trade qualification in Commercial patisserie (preferred) and current Food Handler Certificate
  • Demonstrated experience with several years focused on high-volume cooking in settings like fine dining and hotels (preferred)
  • No prior experience in healthcare/aged care required for the right candidate
  • Highly organized & maintain cleanliness during work
  • Superior presentation skills for desserts and pastries
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of Food Services
  • Ability to oversee day-to-day production with kitchenhands' assistance and take charge of smooth kitchen operations
  • Familiarity with and adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Outstanding customer service abilities
  • Keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Capability to follow care plan directives
  • Understanding of Aged Care regulations and resident rights and responsibilities
  • Current Flu and COVID-19 vaccination records
  • National Police Certificate
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check may be necessary for this role
