54 reasons is one of the main child rights organizations in Australia, standing out as a unique not-for-profit institution. A place where your purpose truly counts. Proudly connected to both the Save the Children Australia Group and the global movement, we are dedicated to ensuring that children and young individuals have their rights respected and thrive, embracing all forms of diversity.

Our team members are deeply rooted in the local communities we serve - spanning across all states and territories, including remote areas, regions, and major cities.

We prioritize a healthy balance between work and personal life, fostering a sense of connection among our team and with the impact we make. Gain insights from inspiring individuals and expand your horizons by tapping into our extensive local and global networks. From our initiatives to our supporting services, this is where you can bring your purpose to life.

A Place to Make a Difference:

We are in search of an experienced expert in a specific field to spearhead a 12-month evaluation of our service offerings within the Australian humanitarian and settlement sector. This role involves collaborating with colleagues in national operations, the broader global movement, and local sector partners. Reporting to our Deputy CEO and Head of Strategy and Partnerships, you will have a significant impact by:

  • Developing and nurturing strategic partnerships and alliances, including collaborations with Save the Children members, country offices, and global Migration & Displacement experts.
  • Driving service innovation and design across the national humanitarian and settlement portfolio, leveraging internal co-design specialists to ensure that our initiatives are informed by real-life experiences.
  • Supporting the strategic growth of Save the Children's Australian services from initial source to settlement.

This position requires:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading service delivery within the Australian humanitarian and settlement realm, showcasing a dedicated approach towards integrating client feedback into design and continuous quality improvement.
  • Strong presentation and influencing abilities, along with the confidence and skills needed to lead negotiations and serve as a local expert for Save the Children Australia.
  • A proven track record of establishing and nurturing robust and respectful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and community groups, supported by well-established networks.
  • A collaborative work ethic, empowering you to influence, experiment, and learn from your interactions.

A Place to Belong:

54 Reasons is proudly affiliated with Save the Children Australia. We are a learning-focused organization that prioritizes the growth and well-being of our team members. With a workforce of around 1100 individuals, we take pride in our diversity - spanning various races, ethnicities, genders, ages, abilities, sexual orientations, cultures, and beliefs.

Our demanding work requires individuals with diverse backgrounds, personalities, and talents who come together as one strong, cohesive team. We recognize and celebrate the unique contributions you bring to our organization, offering a variety of rewards for your dedication.

If this sounds intriguing to you, we are eager to hear from you.

Please submit an expression of interest by the end of business on the 17th of June 2024. This submission should include:

  • A concise summary, in bullet points and within one page, highlighting experiences and expertise (whether individual or agency-related) that are most relevant to the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Your individual curriculum vitae and the contact details of at least two referees.

For additional details or to obtain a copy of the Position Description, please feel free to reach out directly to our Deputy CEO and Head of Strategy and Partnerships, Simone Gianelli.

We have designed our application process with inclusivity in mind, striving to make it simple and accessible for all applicants. Diversity and inclusion are core aspects of our culture, enhancing our ability to cater to our most vulnerable client groups. However, we understand that recruitment is not one-size-fits-all - if our approach did not fully resonate with you, please share your feedback with us. We are committed to ensuring that Save the Children Australia is a supportive environment for everyone, regardless of background.

Save the Children Australia upholds a child-safe environment. All team members are required to undergo a National Police Check, a Working with Children Check, and adhere to our Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct. We also endorse the Inter-Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme. For more details on the Scheme and our commitment to Safeguarding, please refer to the provided link.

Save the Children is dedicated to fostering a safe workplace for both employees and client groups, in compliance with our obligations under OH&S legislation.
