An exciting and full-time opportunity has arisen for a Head of Business Development & Product to join our Bupa Dental Care team.
Bupa Dental Care brings our purpose to life through its role as Australia's leading provider of dental services, committed to making high quality and great value dental care easily accessible to customers. We have more than 170 dental centres across Australia, many of these are Bupa branded (full or co-branded) dental centres within the Bupa exclusive Member's First Ultimate Network.
Reporting to the General Manager, Commercial you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and overseeing the development, enhancement, and management of the company's dental portfolio. This position is responsible for leading the strategic direction of product development, ensuring alignment with market needs, customer expectations, and the company's overall vision. By collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, the Head of Business Development & Product identifies opportunities for network expansion, improvement, and differentiation within the industry.
What will your day look like?
- Lead the product design process including new and amended products, pricing and their regulatory approval. This process will include close liaison and collaboration with the CX, Commercial, Operations Teams and Health Insurance, with a keen focus on evolving the Members First Ultimate proposition.
- Successfully manage all appropriate product and pricing hierarchies and relationships.
- Lead the development of the optimal product portfolio mix within practices, working closely with the Clinical team.
- Drive product advocacy to proactively influence government and regulators to enable market leading product evolution, in collaboration with Corporate Affairs.
- Work with Service Delivery to ensure product feedback is captured and that teams feel well supported to recommend and sell products to customers based on need.
- Lead and drive network expansion through greenfield and or acquisition activity, working closely with Health Insurance to support their broad member base needs.
- Contribute to the collective delivery of Bupa's organisation goals and objectives particularly around Gross Margin performance.

What do I need?
- Significant experience in a relevant business environment especially in either health insurance, health services, or financial services with direct experience in customer value propositions including service, product and loyalty.
- Experience in senior management, strategic or change management roles.
- Proven ability in relationship management.
- A track record of achievement and delivery in any relevant commercial field.
- Evidence of demonstrable leadership skills and competencies.
- Tertiary qualifications are desirable and skills or training in business management, or related disciplines are an advantage.
- Product development functional experience including demonstrable:
- Leadership of product development & management strategies;
- Expertise in Australian healthcare legislative and regulatory environment and the impact of these upon product policy and strategy.
