Our People
CIT comprises three Divisions.

Education & Training Services division, comprising five teaching colleges, three support areas and the CIT Yurauna Centre which is a service dedicated to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Each College is led by a director and supported by divisional services, Corporate Services, and Industry Engagement & Strategic Relations, to provide quality vocational education in a range of areas.

CIT Executive Structure


CIT's structure includes three Executive Directors with strategic responsibility and oversight for Corporate Services, Education and Training Services, and Industry Engagement and Strategic Relations.

Whilst being accountable for these portfolios the Executive Directors, together with the Chief Executive Officer, have a shared accountability for the strategic direction and governance of CIT.


Position Overview
The CIT is looking for a high-performing Executive Assistant to join the team. The successful applicant will need to demonstrate a high level of office management, organisation, and communication skills.


The position is within a high performing Executive Support team, reporting to the Executive Officer, Office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

The primary focus of the position is to support the functions of the Office of the CEO and work closely with the Executive support team to ensure the office runs efficiently.


As a member of the Executive Support team, this position provides operational and administrative support to the CEO and works collaboratively with the team to support the broader Senior Leadership Team (Executive Group Managers, Executive Branch Managers and Senior Directors) across three divisions of CIT; Corporate Services; Education and Training Services; or Strategic Projects and Industry Engagement.

You will liaise with various teams across the Institute and across Government, working closely with other teams to support the work of the CEO.

You will also act as a mentor for other Executive Assistants and Executive Support Officers across the Institute.

Duties and Responsibilities
The position reports to the CEO's Executive Officer.

Under general direction, the occupant will:

  • Manage and maintain office systems relevant to the Executive's office and identify areas where improvements can be made.
  • Assist with coordination of division workflow and provide administrative support across the division, acting as a first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, and other Government officials.
  • Plan, coordinate and provide highlevel secretariat support to committees and meetings including preparing agendas and papers; taking minutes and following up on action items; collate reports and papers for presentation by the Executive, and liaison with senior stakeholders.
