As the WHSEQ Advisor you will work closely with Project Managers, Divisional WSEQ Advisor and the Manager of Construction. Working across a series of projects to ensure the Health, Saftey, Environment and Quality requirements are being met.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Support project managers ensuring that safe systems of work are implemented in minimising risk to quality, environment and health and safety for all personnel.
  • Promote safety awareness throughout the site workforce.
  • Review and advise improvement to site/project specific health, safety, environmental and quality plans, ensuring compliant implementation and improvement.
  • Review and reporting incidents, HSEQ non-conformances and near miss investigations to prevent recurrence, and participate in incident investigations when required.
  • Support managing an effective relationship and communication with the client and all stakeholders, including the general public.
  • Promote a safe customer-focused team culture on site.
  • Maintain a sound working knowledge of company safety procedures, legislation and the project management plans.
  • Ensure that all personnel working on the site have undergone the safety induction training.
  • Contribute to reviewing SWMS and JSEA's and monitor the full and proper implementation of agreed safe work methods.
  • Be responsible for coordinating Contract Pre-Start Up making sure all actions are closed out prior to the commencement of project.
  • Assist in the establishment of Project Site Folders
  • Provide First Aid treatment and ensure the proper care of injured persons.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise mature judgement.
  • Competency in general suite of software (e.g., Microsoft professional suit), WHSEQ systems, and project management platforms (e.g., InEight, Aconex, Procore).
  • Other ad hoc duties as required.
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a site WHSEQ role
  • Certificate IV in OHS or current studies in this field
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current White Card
  • Current Driver's License
  • Have a clean police record and ability to obtain DCSI and Defence clearance
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Experience in safety management systems
  • Experience in the HAZOP and CHAZOP process
