The Year 9 Program Leader leads the curriculum, staff, students and facilities associated with the Year 9 Learning 4 Life Program, along with the engagement, general management and transition of Year 9 students.

Reporting to the Assistant Principal (Student Operations) the Year 9 Program Leader works as a member of the leadership team and liaises with the Teaching & Learning Team in relation to Year 9 program and curriculum.


Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads Year 9 Learning 4 Life Program, including curriculum, staff and facilities
  • Implements Year 9 NAPLAN
  • Oversees the transition of students from Year 8 into Year 9, including the selection of electives and running parent information evenings
  • Coordinates the Course Counselling Process for students transitioning into Year 10 (in consultation with Year 10 Program Leader)
  • Member of the College's Leadership Team
  • Performance & Development Leader for Year 9 Learning 4 Life staff
  • Liaises with Curriculum Coordinator to monitor, review and make recommended changes to Year 9 Curriculum and Programs
  • Implements programs to enhance student engagement
  • Oversees and supports year 9 level coordinators
  • Works with students, parents and staff of students at risk
  • Year level assemblies
  • Liases with disability inclusion leaders and behaviour specialists
  • Leads the year 9 PLC team
