We are looking for an experienced Technical Operations Manager who will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the use of manufacturing technologies and best practices in McCain fry plants.


About the role

  • Deliver vertical startup of projects using Startup Management processes for equipment
  • Ensure growth and Capex projects incorporate the right technologies and best practices to optimize profitable growth
  • Manage equipment commissioning, qualification, and verification (CQV) process for large scale projects
  • Coach a team of individuals to the highest levels of project SuM
  • Review and approve Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Functional Design Specifications (FDS), and logic simulations
  • Manage the handoff transition between functions and ensure projects deliver against the business case
  • Support plants to sustain and make continuous improvements against key manufacturing targets
  • Manage the development, implementation and sustainment of McCain best operating practices
  • Develop technical capabilities throughout the manufacturing organization
  • Lead the development of new manufacturing technology pipeline and establish new processing benchmarks that drive continuous improvement
  • Uplift capability of the Technical Operations and other functional teams to allow quick and seamless implementation of projects

About you

  • University degree required in Engineering, Science or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the Food Manufacturing industry
  • Previous experience in a technical, engineering, operational and/or an R&D role is essential
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
  • Strong business acumen, able to read and build financial reports
  • Ability to manage a team, effectively delegate tasks, and measure progress
  • Proven influence and decisionmaking skills with crossfunctional business teams
  • Strong technical aptitude, mechanical/electrical engineering, and/or plant automation, with the ability to improve process efficiencies (Process engineering)
  • Knowledge with Autonomous Maintenance Systems
  • Knowledge of processing equipment, processing methods, manufacturing philosophies and basic manufacturing SOP's
  • Experience with startup management concepts and equipment commissioning
  • Experience in training and facilitation
