HSE Business Partner to join the HSE team to support the
Queensland business to deliver GHD's wide range of consulting services in accordance with our commitment to provide a healthy and safe workplace and minimise our impacts on the environment.


Based in Brisbane , this role will report to the
HSE Manager, Northern Region and will be responsible for proactively identifying HSE risks on projects and coaching Project Managers and Project Directors on relevant risk mitigation strategies including contractor management and safety in design.

This key role offers a combination of responsibility, stakeholder engagement and implementation of initiatives, and will see you involved in but not limited to:

  • Assist the Region HSE Manager in the delivery of Regional HSE Management Systems and initiatives.
  • Assist in implementing the Regional Action Plan and maintain Risk Assessment for the Region.
  • Assist in Identifying legal requirements, monitoring and communicating legislative changes and evaluating compliance within Region.
  • Support effective management decisionmaking by monitoring HSE performance, analysing to identify trends, and making recommendations to management.
  • Facilitate Region HSE consultation arrangements e.g. Committees and Representatives.
  • Undertake site HSE inspections and audits, including traveling to Regions and projects within Region to assist where and when required.
  • Maintain training needs analysis, monitor completion and deliver training, including new starter inductions for Region.

What would you bring to the team?

  • Diploma/Advanced Diploma or higher in a Health and Safety related discipline supported by a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Strong ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders and influence at different levels of an organisation to improve safety culture and performance.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on HSE initiatives and undertaking HSE inspections and incident investigations.
  • An ability to exercise sound judgement and decisiveness with problem solving.
  • Delivering HSE training and presentations.
  • Strong skills with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Auditor qualifications are desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including consultation and negotiation, presentation skills.
  • Experience working in a remote team environment is desirable.
  • There may be government or client requirements which require an uptodate COVID19 vaccination for this position. _
