About the team


Subsidence Advisory NSW is a division within the Department of Customer Service that has a talented team who work to support the community in coal mining areas of New South Wales and are responsible for administering the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act.

The team provide expert advice to property owners, government departments and authorities, local councils, community organisations and industries throughout NSW.


About the role

As a Customer Service Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing consistent high-level customer service within a front-line position of the agency.

This will include related administration and other services, in a manner that enhances customer satisfaction and supports both internal and external stakeholders.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Respond promptly to enquiries from customers both internal and external on a wide range of matters via telephone and in writing, ensuring compliance with legislation and/or processes
  • Provide a range of operational and administrative tasks within established delegation levels
  • Update and maintain records and databases, complying with service delivery systems and processes

To be successful you will have:

  • Experience within an administrative role or similar
  • Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience writing and preparing correspondence
  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • A clear communicator with high level interpersonal and people skills
  • Able to competently use and learn new ICT and record management systems, processes and procedures quickly and effectively
