Why your role matters

The Projects Manager, Experience & Belonging plays a key role within the Experience Pillar of the Pro Vice Chancellor Student Success. This role manages the delivery of the Belonging & Onboarding project within the larger 'Improving the Student Experience Program'. This is aimed at implementing university wide initiatives to enhance the overall student experience. This role entails developing and managing the project planning and delivery, analysis, evaluation and reporting, including managing all stakeholder engagement and quality.

Specific accountabilities for this role include:

  • Work closely with key stakeholders including students, Divisions, Faculties, and Schools, to realise initiatives designed to enhance students' experience through expanded first year engagement activities.
  • Manage the delivery of Belonging & Onboarding project initiatives to achieve operational and strategic goals.
  • Manage projects on time and within budget, implementing effective project management methodologies including analysis, planning, tracking budgets, developing, and disseminating communications, identifying, and proactively tracking risks, taking action or escalating to the Senior Projects Manager
  • Develop and manage project communications including regular progress reports and/or updates on project status, risks and changes to stakeholders, internally and externally where relevant using a variety of channels and forums.

About You:
You will hold a relevant qualification, or equivalent level of knowledge, and relevant experience within data management and business improvement processes alongside:

  • Demonstrated success in developing and managing programs that are geared towards enhancing the student experience with a particular focus on the first-year experience and student belonging.
  • Proven analysis and project management experience with an in-depth understanding of the project life cycle and strategic development of project plans, objectives, and documentation.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, and implementing programs in a tertiary education setting.
  • Sound stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior management and liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes alongside a high-performance mindset.
  • Ability to effectively manage complex student issues, programs, projects, and initiatives and to effectively diffuse potential areas of dispute and/or conflict.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to summarise key issues, develop innovative solutions, and produce high-level outcomes in both autonomous and team-based contexts.
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to operate autonomously while demonstrating strong initiative and a proactive approach to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
