About the role


The role leads a team of marketing specialists within the broader New Teachers and Programs - Branding and Promotions team.

Responsible for promoting employment and career opportunities for current and future teachers across NSW, as well as communicating the teacher value proposition (TVP) of the NSW Department of Education, this team develops and maintains effective working relationships with a number of internal and external stakeholders.


In this role, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with key business stakeholders to communicate the teacher value proposition
  • Design and deliver innovative teacher attraction campaigns
  • Promote the NSW Department of Education as the employer of choice
  • Manage all aspects of campaigns and projects from planning to implementation including reporting
  • Lead the implementation of processes and systems that support evaluation activities
  • Monitor and provide timely insight to the Manager on performance indicators and targets

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications and relevant experience in Communications, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake interstate and intrastate travel to meet delivery requirements of projects.
  • Hold a valid driver's licence (provisional or above).

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • Knowledge of and experience in promotions, advertising, social media and digital marketing, branding, print media, event management and public relations with the ability to optimise communications for individual channels.
