Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is expanding the Aboriginal Workforce Development Team and is looking for a fulltime Aboriginal Workforce Development Coordinator based at Gosford Hospital.


This recruitment may be used to fill future positions via an eligibility list for permanent, full time, part time, temporary and casual positions.

About You

  • You are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person who is passionate about improving outcomes for community
  • You have a tertiary qualification or substantial work experience in the fields of employment, student support and development, health or community.
  • You have experience coordinating, implementing or supporting initiatives that increase attraction, recruitment, retention and development of Aboriginal staff.
  • You have an understanding the importance of building a strong and skilled Aboriginal workforce to support the health and wellbeing of our community

Where you'll be working?


The primary location of this position will be in Gosford, though there will be some travel between our four hospitals: Gosford, Wyong, Woy Woy and Long Jetty.


What you'll be doing


The Aboriginal Workforce Development Unit plays a key role across the District in providing leadership and direction of the District's progress towards achieving Aboriginal workforce related objectives outlined in the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, NSW Health Good Health Great Jobs Aboriginal Workforce and Respecting the Difference Frameworks.


  • The Aboriginal Workforce Development Coordinator will coordinate and support the implementation of strategies that attract, develop and retain Aboriginal employees
  • Build strong and effective working relationships to support the successful recruitment and professional development of Aboriginal students and staff.
  • Coordinate Aboriginal workforce initiatives such as: traineeships, schoolbased traineeships and cadetships.
