Bungree Aboriginal Association is an Aboriginal community based organisation which provides a wide range of services to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

As the largest Aboriginal not for profit organisation on the Central Coast, Bungree is a multi-service organisation delivering programs and services to the Central Coast, as well as parts of Newcastle and the Upper Hunter in New South Wales.

Bungree Disability Services is a registered provider for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Bungree Disability Services has been approved for 11 support programs including assistance in coordinating or managing life stages, transitions and support, assistance with daily life tasks, development of daily living and life skills, therapeutic supports, assistive products for personal care and safety, assistance with daily personal activities, assistance with transport, assistive products for household tasks, household tasks, participation in community, social and civic activities, and management of funding for supports in a participant's plan.


The Role

An exciting and rare opportunity has become available for a Team Leader to manage a team of six support workers.

You will provide leadership and direction to the team whilst managing a caseload of your own. This role would suit someone who thrives on challenge and is ultimately looking to grow their management career.

Reporting to the CEO, your key leadership responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Leading a team effectively by monitoring, coaching, and mentoring to achieve required outcomes/performance.
  • Sharing knowledge and information to contribute to the team's growth and development.
  • Allocating and assisting support workers on their client visits as required.
  • Ensuring the team is provided with the support, information, and expertise required to effectively meet their responsibilities.
  • Achieving performance targets and organisational requirements through effective leadership.
  • Monthly operational reporting for CEO and Board.
In addition to the leadership responsibilities, this role will also have a case load to manage which includes but is not limited to:

  • Assertive outreach (visiting in home, engaging clients in different environments etc).
  • Managing case notes, data and record keeping.
  • Engagement and rapport building with potential clients and other services.
  • Supporting participants to implement their NDIS plan to maximise the value for money they receive.
  • Supporting participants to find services they need and to connect with other relevant supports in the community.
  • Providing information to participants and advocates, when necessary, to facilitate access to community services and facilities.
  • Supporting participants in facilitating their independence by enabling empowerments and choice, and the promotion of personal resilience and social inclusion.
  • Communicating with participants effectively and according to Bungree Code of Conduct.


The position will work within funding and legislative guidelines and provide an efficient, effective, and quality service to people with a disability and their families.

You may be required at times to be on-call and respond to enquiries from staff and clients out of normal business hours.

This is a permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This position will be based at our Central Coast office and will require some travel.

About You


You will have demonstrated experience in working within NDIS and Aged Care standards and principles of a person's 'choice and control'.

Your experience of delivering outcomes-based services that have consistently achieved performance targets, as well as multi-faceted human services programs will be highly regarded.


Your leadership skills and passion for coaching and mentoring, the continuous improvement of the functions, and your ability to work equitably with NDIS participants with dignity, privacy, independence, and respect, will be fundamental in the ongoing success of the program.

You will have great people skills, be organised, have strong problem-solving skills, high level communication and negotiation skills.
