The Opportunity


The Injury Management Coordinator is responsible for ensuring employees with workplace injuries are effectively managed to ensure a sustainable and effective return to work.

They will drive our compliance with departmental and legislative requirements and guide the business on industry best practice for the management of workplace injuries and illnesses, matters of employee welfare, and the safe return to work of employees who have non-work-related injuries or illnesses.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Champion and improve the company's injury management processes and outcomes
  • Champion our employee welfare framework and initiatives
  • Track and improve injury management data integrity to monitor injury management outcomes
  • Oversee an early injury intervention program to provide employees with early access to allied health/medical services to reduce lost time injury claims
  • Identify and implement solutions to root causes of injuries as required
  • Actively case manage the return to work of injured employees on formal Workcover claims including complex claims
  • Work with legal representatives and injury management consultants when required to actively manage complex Workcover claims
  • Contribute to an employee health program framework and initiatives that demonstrate our value of care
  • Partner with other employees in the business who are responsible for injury management and returntowork tasks
  • At least 5 years of injury claims management experience
  • The ability to deal with employees during mental health events
  • Experience in the use of SolvInjury or similar claims management software
  • Intermediate skills Microsoft Office suite
  • The ability to effectively work with lawyers on complex Workcover Claims and act on sound legal advice
  • An advanced understanding of relevant Workcover and Return to Work legislation (preferably across all Australian jurisdictions)
  • Experience with Employment Tribunals for disputed Workcover claims
  • The ability to write reports, create data sets, and use data to identify and drive improvement
