This is a part-time 2-year contract, working 4 days a week (0.8 FTE). The base annual salary is $68,000.00 + 10.5% Superannuation, based on a 38-hour working week.

The Workshop Coordinator reports to the Head of Department - Props (or delegate).

**Description
The National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) is Australia’s premier training ground for future leaders and practitioners in the dramatic arts. Located at Kensington in Sydney, it is a Centre of excellence in education and training. NIDA is unique in the world for its practice-based and industry-relevant training in the range that it offers which includes Acting, Design, Costume, Properties and Objects, Technical Theatre and Stage Management, Scenic Construction, Writing for Performance, Directing and Cultural Leadership.

The Props Workshop Coordinator has responsibilities for providing overall coordination and the ongoing resourcing of the NIDA props workshop, studios, and related areas. It also involves the delivery of technical demonstrations within the Properties and Objects Department, providing support to students in the manufacture of properties and effects, and ensuring that safe work practices and appropriate workshop etiquette are adhered to.

**Requirements**:
You are a highly motivated and organised person with experience working in a workshop environment with a range of materials and techniques. You are able to do technical demonstrations on the correct and safe use of plant equipment, power tools and hand tools, and advise students in their technical queries. Also, you are capable of timely sourcing materials, consumables, and the maintenance of workshop-related equipment.
