About the role

  • We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Organisation of shift allocations to ensure adequate rostering to the requirements of the region
  • Assist with the recruitment and training of Pathology Specimen Collectors
  • Ensure best practice service standards are met in all locations
  • Collection of blood and other samples from patients
  • Packaging and dispatching of specimens, including stock and equipment maintenance
  • Coordination of customer appointments and request details
  • Ensuring adherence to Occupational Health and Safety and Quality Policies

About you

  • To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
  • Demonstrated experience in all facets of Phlebotomy and the ability to supervise staff
  • Deliver training with positive outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills and intermediate computer experience
  • Strong customer focus and accuracy with attention to detail
  • A current full (unrestricted) driver licence is required
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and adhere to policies and procedures and convey this knowledge to both existing and new employees
  • Due to internal movements we are seeking a Collection Coordinator who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate and engaged team in the South Region for a 12 month contract

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operations of pathology collection including roster, payroll, training, and competency
  • Organisation of shift allocations to ensure adequate rostering to the requirements of the region
  • Provide strong and effective leadership to a highly engaged collection team
  • Manage operational costs including labour and consumables
  • Ensure WHS, quality and NATA compliance
  • Manage and oversee all people matters in relation to recruitment, onboarding, induction, performance, retention and development
  • Ensure best practice service standards are met in all locations
  • Stock and equipment maintenance
  • Collection of blood and other samples from patients

About You:

  • Hold a
    Certificate III in Pathology Collection and HLTPAT005 Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing
  • Demonstrated experience in all facets of Phlebotomy and the ability to supervise staff
  • Strong people management skills
  • Deliver training with positive outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills and intermediate computer experience
  • A high degree of discretion, confidentiality and professionalism
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong customer focus and accuracy with attention to detail
  • A high rate of accuracy and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A current full (unrestricted) driver licence is required
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and adhere to policies and procedures and convey this knowledge to both existing and new employees
  • A good understanding of NATA requirements (ISO15189) and NPAAC guidelines
