Business Coordinator

Salary: $120K - $130K plus super
Our government client is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic person who can lead and has a solid background in finance and accounts. The position lies within the Rates & Receivables team and hence the ability to perform high volume - transactional tasks is needed.
Personality is also super key for the role, ideally someone who can bring a great sense of humor and a fun-loving attitude, cooperative nature all while maintaining a strong focus on customer service.
The team has almost been built from scratch and they are all outgoing, sociable bunch that are really motivated, highly performing and love development and learning. The successful candidate will have a similar managerial style, and ideally has had experience leading big teams and is engaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage stakeholder relationships to ensure consistent service quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate the teamâs workload and manage staff leave and absences during peak periods.
- Lead the administration of the Councilâs rates functions, including distribution of notices, property valuation adjustments, and pensioner concessions.
- Proactively coordinate and manage debt recovery procedures, adhering to the Councilâs Hardship Policy.
- Manage, lead, and mentor the Rates and Receivables team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Act as the escalation point for the team, assisting with resolving customer enquiries and disputes, ensuring timely collections activities.
- Drive efficiency within the team, focusing on City priorities and achieving short- and longer-term goals.
- Facilitate effective utilization of time and resources to enhance capacity for key objectives.
- Value collaboration and teamwork, emphasizing the achievement of team goals.
