Are you experienced in demurrage and claims with a keen eye for detail? 

Faststream is recruiting for a Post-Fixture Contract Specialist for a well known ship owning company. With growth in the market comes company expansion, with this exciting opportunity being based out of their New Castle, UK office. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage Demurrage Claims associated with vessel employment, ensuring proper and effective handling.
  • Calculate, raise, and tender demurrage invoices in accordance with CP Terms promptly.
  • Proactively pursue Charterers for demurrage settlement and understand Charter Party clauses.
  • Calculate and invoice freight, time charter hire, and other associated claims accurately.
  • Ensure all claims/revenues are raised within the stipulated time barred period.
  • Handle the issuance and collection of Freight upon vessel discharge.
  • Verify and raise miscellaneous claims in adherence to CP terms.
  • Maintain records of all claims and collections proceeds within the approved system.
  • Report on freight/hire/demurrage and miscellaneous claims status as required.
  • Collaborate with various departments to streamline procedures and support commercial initiatives.
  • Process brokerage commission and Commercial Fee payments efficiently.
  • Contribute to the development of the quality management system and continuous improvement of departmental procedures.
  • Produce monthly management reports on collected and outstanding dues.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Diploma level education in any discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience, with at least 2 years in a claims-type environment.
  • Strong numeracy and written communication skills.
  • Commercial acumen and familiarity with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Exposure to Shipping IT systems such as VESON IMOS, Oracle, or similar platforms.
