Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Procurement and Contracts Manager to oversee our procurement operations. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the General Manager and will be accountable for managing all aspects of construction and subcontractor contract administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulating, negotiating, and overseeing contractual agreements with clients and subcontractors;
  • Delivering commercial, contractual, and procurement guidance to the project management team;
  • Creating and executing supplier management strategies and vendor benchmarking;
  • Monitoring and assessing client contract stipulations for projects, assisting in notice and claim preparations as necessary;
  • Identifying significant commercial, contractual, or procurement risks or challenges to the Project Director and collaborating on solutions;
  • Engaging with internal stakeholders and key supplier representatives regarding contractual and procurement issues;
  • Ensuring compliance of all commercial activities with contract terms and deliverables;
  • Evaluating and leveraging project and subcontractor cost reports and forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in engineering, business, or a legal field;
  • Experience in the construction sector from EPCM, contractor, or client perspectives;
  • Proficiency in planning and financial reporting with a comprehensive understanding of variation processes;
  • Extensive knowledge of contractual documentation and procedures, including general conditions, special conditions, scope, precedence, progress claims, and variation management;
  • Proven experience in all aspects of client and subcontractor negotiations;
  • Ability to foster strong stakeholder relationships at all organizational levels;
  • Excellent communication skills, including the capability to prepare written correspondence, reports, and directives;
  • Experience in managing a small team is highly regarded;
  • Proof of eligibility to work in Australia.
