Job Description

VSL are seeking Two (2) dedicated and experienced individuals to the Victorian Board as a Non-Executive Board Members. These positions offer a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction and governance of our organisation, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education to students across Victoria.

Responsibilities include:
* Ensure the highest standards of child safety and compliance with legal, regulatory and ethical standards, and adherence to governance best practices.
* Provide strategic guidance and oversight to support the achievement of EREA's mission and objectives.
* Actively participate in Board meetings, discussions, and decision-making processes.
* Contribute expertise and insights to the development and implementation of policies, programs, and initiatives.
* Foster effective relationships with stakeholders, including school leaders, staff, parents, and the broader community.

The Successful Applicant

* Proven experience in governance, preferably in a non-profit or educational setting,
* Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Course,
* Candidates from varying background will be considered, including, and not limited to, Finance and Accounting leadership positions, or Experience in Secondary or Tertiary education,
* Experience with State or Federal Education funding bodies,
* Experience dealing with Regulators including; Victorian Registrations and Qualifications Authority (VRQA), Victorian Catholic Education Authority (VCEA), Australian Charities and Not For Profit Commission (ACNC)
* Effective strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgements and recommendations,
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders,
* Demonstrated commitment to the values and mission of EREA, including a passion for Catholic education and social justice,

What's on Offer

Term and Time Commitment:
-These are voluntary positions with a term of three years, renewable by mutual agreement.

-Non-Executive Board Members are expected to attend approximately eight meetings per year, as well as occasional subcommittee meetings and events.

-Additional time may be required for preparation and engagement outside of formal meetings.
