Head of Program Delivery

As we grow rapidlyand fulfill our role as a Strategic Metropolitan Centre, we areseeking an experienced and motivated Head of Program Delivery tolead these efforts and ensure our built environment meets the needsof our growing population.

About the Role:

As the Head of Program Delivery, you will lead and manage theProgram Delivery team, ensuring the successful delivery of theCity’s major capital projects, including civils andproperties. Your leadership will be critical in setting hightechnical and project management standards, drawing on yourextensive experience in program management within the constructionand local government sectors.

You will provide clear direction and coaching to your team,fostering skill development and establishing consistent practicesto enhance performance. Your role will also involve building andmaintaining key relationships with internal clients, stakeholders,and external partners, ensuring seamless project progression andeffective communication.

In addition to managing the team, you will monitor contractperformance, manage risks, and implement strategies to achievesuccessful project outcomes. Your commercial acumen will beessential in ensuring the robustness of all project dealings.

What You Will Be Working On:

Major Projects: Lead the delivery of significant civils and building projects, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Innovative Solutions: Identify and capitalise on opportunities to innovate and improve project delivery processes. Community Focus: Understand and integrate community needs into project planning and execution, ensuring outcomes that benefit our residents. Commercial Acumen: Ensure commercial and contractual robustness in all project dealings, drawing from your proven experience.

What You Will Achieve:

Safe and Sustainable Project Delivery: Establish processes and promote a strong culture of safety and environmental care, ensuring controls are in place to address risks associated with major projects. Effective Procurement and Contract Management: Select suppliers based on City requirements, manage commercial negotiations, and ensure compliance with legislative and policy requirements. High Performing Team: Lead and coach a multidisciplinary project team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. Operational Excellence: Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, identifying opportunities for improvement and addressing performance issues.

To Be Successful, You Will Need:

Demonstrated leadership experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Extensive experience in program and project management within the construction/local government industries. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (civil, building, or structural) or related disciplines, with relevant professional registrations. Strong understanding of procurement, contract management, and risk mitigation strategies. Commitment to safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.
