Associate Nurse Unit Manager – Peri-anaesthetics

The peri-anaesthetic ANUM at The Royal Melbourne Hospital supports a busy 16 theatre operating suite, supporting the flow of recovering patients and providing anaesthetic assistance across our range of specialties.

This is a varied role that requires a switched-on nurse who enjoys the challenges associated with working and managing a team in a major metropolitan trauma centre and is willing to work hard to provide excellent nursing care. 

Your new role:

  • The ANUM is an integral member of the department management team, assisting the NUM in the course of their duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinical environment.
  • The ANUM manages the nursing and related resources available to the department, sets the clinical standards to achieve a high quality of nursing care and fosters and maintains a working environment which provides professional development and job satisfaction for all staff.

About you:

  • Highly motivated nurse who enjoys the challenges associated with working in a major metropolitan operating suite
  • Demonstrated ability to practice collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary health care team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team
  • 4+ years’ experience in Peri-anaesthetic and/or Recovery Nursing
  • Post Graduate qualifications in Peri-anaesthetic and Recovery Nursing is highly desirable
  • High clinical standards in patient assessment
  • Previous ANUM experience is desirable
