About the NSW Crime Commission

The NSW Crime Commission is established to investigate and disrupt organised crime and other serious criminal activity and to pursue confiscation of the proceeds of crime.The Commission is structured into several divisions, consisting of operational and support teams.

The Corporate and Enterprise Services Division is responsible for delivering all corporate and enterprise services to support and sustain the core business and functions of the Commission. These services and functions form the basis of the operating model of the Commission. The division comprises of Technology Services, Business Services, Audit, Risk and People Services and the Office of the Commissioner. These services include various business units providing the core corporate and enterprise services and functions.

About the role

The Personnel Security Intelligence Officer role at the Commission has a primary focus on personnel security related functions.

The personnel security related functions include utilising an array of information and intelligence sources to conduct and contribute to assessments for Crime Commission security clearances in accordance with the Crime Commission Regulation 2022 , and to contribute to insider threat detection and assessments of security incidents and threats against the Commission and its staff.

The role will allow you to utilise your strong intelligence analysis, research and assessment skills to explore the background and character of Commission employees to determine their suitability for access to highly sensitive and classified information and resources in a secure law-enforcement environment.

You will also provide administrative support to the Commission's People & Culture Manager,including the coordination and administration of various HR-related functions, as required.

This position will give you the opportunity to analyse intelligence from a range of government, law enforcement and online sources and make recommendations that contribute to the protective security measures of the NSW Crime Commission.

Security Vetting

The recommended candidates must be willing to participate in and secure appropriate security clearances by providing comprehensive details about their personal and financial interests and other relevant information about themselves, their families and their associates.

It is a condition of employment at the Commission that a member of staff obtain and maintain:

a security clearance issued by the Commissioner, and a security clearance issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency that the Commissioner determines is necessary for the position.
