About the office

Pathways is designed to provide students an alternative pathway into university. The Tertiary Pathway Program assists students to develop (over the semester) the necessary skills and attributes for successful transition to undergraduate degree programs.

About the role

The Pathways Project Officer acts as a key connection between the Clontarf Foundation and the University of Notre Dame Australia. This role focuses on building collaborative partnerships and creating opportunities for Clontarf students. The Pathways Project Officer will utilize strong communication skills, strategic planning, and budget management to support engagement activities that enhance students' educational experiences and facilitate their pathways to university.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Clontarf staff at national, regional, and academy levels, as well as with various faculties at the University of Notre Dame.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver a variety of engaging on-campus and outreach activities for Clontarf students and staff, including University Experience Days, Clontarf Employment Officer PD Days, the Clontarf Awards Day, the Executive Development Program, outreach workshops aligned with the equity framework, transition support into university, and UniPath workshops for potential students.
  • Oversee budget forecasting and expenditure for projects, ensuring financial accountability and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Create and promote opportunities for different Faculties to engage with the Clontarf partnership, enhancing interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Design, implement and monitor programs that are culturally aligned with Clontarf staff and students, ensuring relevance and impact.
  • Support Notre Dame students in their roles as Clontarf Champions, helping them develop skills such as communication, collaboration, mentoring, leadership and growing awareness of diverse learning
    styles of Indigenous students


Qualifications, skills & experience

  • A Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 4 years subsequent work experience, or extensive project management experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Ability to plan effectively at both strategic and operational levels, with the organisational and time-management skills to ensure the delivery of competing, complex programs and services to meet strict deadlines and budgetary constraints.
