You will help deliver NDIS services within the Bendigo region, you will help participants to gain independence and confidence in all aspects of their life
The role of Support Worker (NDIS) has a strong focus (but is not limited to) engaging participants in the community.
As a Support Worker you will engage with participants and support them with their individualised plans and goals. This may include building connections within the community; assisting the person to attend a community event; and sharing common passions and interests.
What will you bring to the role?
- Demonstrated experience working with people with a disability either in a professional environment or may be demonstrated through non-professional means or life experience;
- A sound understanding of disability and the effect on social relationships, independent living, daily needs and physical health
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, as well as negotiation and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to identify, organise and utilise relevant resources effectively;
- Ability to function as a constructive and collaborative member of a small cohesive team;
- Demonstrates qualities of empathy, compassion and integrity;
- Current valid driver’s license
- Current First Aid
The successful candidate will have the legal right to work in Australia and will be required to complete a National Police Clearance Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Screening clearance prior to being offered a role with WISE Employment.
