The Ngunnawal Centre is an integral part of the University's comprehensive strategy to ensure the success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Working in collaboration with the Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Leadership (PVC IL), Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Faculties, and central areas, the Ngunnawal Centre coordinates strategic approaches to achieve specific targets related to Indigenous student success.
About the role:
Under the broad direction of the PVC Indigenous Leadership, the Associate Director - Indigenous Student Success responsibilities will encompass overseeing the operational aspects of the Ngunnawal Centre. The role will focus on strategic collaboration and fostering relations with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success and realisation of Indigenous Student Success and the Centre.
Additionally, this role extends beyond academic and cultural leadership to actively contribute to developing a culturally safe and supportive environment for Indigenous prospective students, current students, staff and alumni. Overseeing the day-to-day operations will include the the Ngunnawal Centre budgets, adhering to reporting and governance requirements and supervising staff performance and continuously improving practices and procedures.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position should have a relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, as well as a strong understanding of Indigenous education and support services. You should have experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation, and possess exceptional analytical and reporting skills. Commitment to promoting Indigenous student success and higher education is crucial, as well as financial management experience, excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities are also important, along with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
