Join the team
As a Senior Compliance Officer, you'll be, instrumental in the delivery of Kmart’s priority compliance frameworks, leading the provision of guidance and training and for the first line business teams, whilst managing day to day regulator interactions. A key accountability is maintaining compliance program documents, and socialising these with responsible compliance officers, spearheading improvements across the Kmart and Target businesses.
You'll have the chance to make a real impact on how we operate and will play a pivotal role in supporting our compliance team's efforts to manage risks and enhance business partnerships.
What you’ll be doing
- Applying your technical knowledge of Australian Consumer Law in partnering with business teams to identify compliance obligations and manage incidents and improve the supporting control environment.
- A natural collaborator you will relish the opportunity to guide a range of stakeholders from executive leaders to store teams, as you embed compliance frameworks.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on their compliance obligations.
- Manage registers of compliance events such as recalls lodged, progress reports filed and mandatory reports lodged.
- Identify and assess changes in business and legislation that impact the wider Kmart and Target business to make sure we are prepared for change.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
- Ideally 5 years’ experience within a similar compliance role.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced or intricately regulated environment, where meeting strict deadlines is paramount.
- Working knowledge of Australian Consumer Law.
- Understanding of the regulatory environment applicable to consumer products in Australia and New Zealand
- Demonstrated expertise in crafting and implementing compliance frameworks.
- Strong customer-centric communication skills and a keen ability to advocate for compliance priorities.
- Experience in privacy or data governance, or product quality and regulator correspondence would be well regarded.
- Experience using Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) software (preferably Archer).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
