THE ROLE:

Are you a passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist seeking a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting impact? Look no further than Calvary, a prestigious healthcare provider with a rich history of delivery exceptional care.

As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you’ll play a pivotal role in providing effective clinical management of the Anaesthetic Preoperative Clinic Service. The position is responsible for the day to day running of the Pre Procedure Clinic which includes the Anaesthetics clinics and Nurse Phone Clinics.

This highly specialised role will deliver effective communication through patient anaesthetics education, and liaising with allied health services to optimise patient’s health pre-operatively.

This role collaborates with the Theatre Nurse Manager, Director of Anaesthesia and the Bookings department coordinator to effectively co-ordinate patients care and procedure dates to achieve best outcomes for our patients.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to possess exceptional clinical skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and a deep commitment to Calvary's values of hospitality, healing, stewardship, and respect. Your ability to inspire and mentor others, coupled with your dedication to continuous improvement, will be instrumental in driving excellence throughout our nursing team.

 DUTIES:

  • Able to plan appropriate care in consultation with patient and multidisciplinary team.
  • Timely, complete and accurate documentation of nursing care and patient’s progress is entered into the patient’s medical /electronic record and communicated to other team members.
  • Performs comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients.
  • Ensures medical and nursing instructions are correctly performed
  • Fosters and promotes a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care within the hospital.
  • Excels in analysis and insight when dealing with complex situations.
  • Prioritises and implements planned care to achieve expected outcomes of established priorities.
  • Able to provide education and information to patients and carers which facilitates their understanding and self-care.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least three years' experience working in the Perioperative clinical environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, leadership, administrative and organisational skills.    
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment during periods of high demand and activity.
  • Strong organisational skills and the capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated experience in education and staff development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development.
