About the team

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior or AssistantManager, (Big 4 accounting firm favoured), CA qualified, to joinour retail and property focussed industry team which sits withinthe BDO Business Services team and works closely with tax, advisoryand audit.

The team was set up three years ago and has grownsignificantly.

The team requires a strong Senior or Assistant Manager with goodaccounting, tax and financial statement skills for compliance workspurposes. Modelling skills will be highly regarded.

Technically and commercially minded people are sought, as wellas someone with an ability to build and hold strong clientrelationships.
BDO also provides strategic advice with respect to superannuation(including SMSFs), estate planning, asset protection, successionplanning, philanthropy, structuring, and family office serviceswhich you will need to be cognisant.

Responsibilities include:

  • Part of the team who produce the strategic advice disciplines described above (including complex tax advice, M&A and due diligence engagements, commercial/industry advisory and benchmarking services)
  • Prepare complex financial statements, consolidated financial statements and Income Tax Returns
  • Preparation and analysis of complex management accounting reports
  • Assisting with the design, development and analysis of financial reporting models
  • Conducting tax compliance reviews of tax returns, FBT returns, GST and Payroll tax
  • Advising on tax planning issues, implementing tax planning and savings ideas for clients across large group client structures
  • Mentor and coach junior and intermediate team members

  • Good understanding of legal research, interpretation and application

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong digital skills including a good working knowledge of MS Office applications, cloud accounting platforms and add-ons
  • Willingness and ability to bring new ideas to the table

Qualifications and Experience required:

  • Accounting, taxation and some advisory experience is essential to your success in this role
  • CA qualified
  • General consulting exposure to a range of clients
