Position:  Industrial Designer

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $70,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation per annum  

Location: Nambour QLD 4560

Our client is seeking a talented Industrial Designer to join their dynamic team on a full-time basis. As a valued member, you'll collaborate closely with the design team across various projects and aim to build long lasting relationships with clients. The focus is always on delivering the best product and service possible.

Tasks required include:

  • Evaluate potential improvements in current products to enhance functionality, aesthetics, and user experience.
  • Use of Turbo CAD FabCAD for Product drawings for production and customers detailing sizes, dimensions
  • Develop concept designs, sketch out design.
  • Create Bill of Materials and Costs of Goods Sold and specifying of materials for projects.
  • Investigate and select materials that meet project specifications and standards.
  • Incorporate feedback and revisions as needed.
  • Maintain project timelines.
  • Draft Standard Operating Process for production descriptions and 3D drawings for product concepts.
  • Follow workplace health and safety regulations, perform quality system audits, and implement innovative and sustainable practices.
  • In charge of preparation of CNC machine drawings and Laser machine programming.
  • Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.
  • Report to General Manager/Production Manager.

Requirements:

  • At least Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.
  • At least five (5) years of relevant experience in the industry may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant work experience in the industry

  • Organisational and time management skills
  • Strong work ethic, positive approach to change
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience
  • Excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others, both internally and externally
  • Willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCad.
